SoloBuddy is a specialized build-in-public companion designed specifically for indie hackers. Unlike traditional task managers, it functions as a living assistant that embeds itself into your content creation workflow. It helps you capture fleeting thoughts in your backlog, transform them into polished drafts, and maintain a consistent presence on social platforms like X (Twitter). By tracking your project's soul and activity, SoloBuddy ensures your documentation and public communication remain synchronized and authentic.

Installation

To install this skill, run the following command in your terminal: clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/bobdevibecoder/bobagent-solobuddy. Once installed, you must configure your data directory by editing ~/.clawdbot/clawdbot.json. Set the dataPath to your target project folder and optionally select a voice profile such as jester-sage, technical, or casual. You will also need to create the required file structure, including the ideas, drafts, and data subdirectories to allow the agent to read and write your project documentation correctly.

Tips & Limitations

• Consistency is Key: The agent relies on your local file structure. Keep your backlog.md clean to ensure the agent provides relevant suggestions.
• Voice Tuning: Use the custom voice profile by creating a voice.md file in your data path if you want the agent to adopt a specific brand voice unique to your project.
• Dependencies: The Twitter Monitor module is optional and strictly requires the bird CLI to function. Ensure this is installed if you intend to use automated engagement features.
• Data Privacy: As this skill reads and writes to local files, ensure you are comfortable with the agent accessing your project repository directly.
