Why use this skill?
Enhance your AI conversations with the smart-followups skill. Automatically generate contextual suggestions, deep dives, and related queries to boost your productivity.
Install via CLI (Recommended)
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/robbyczgw-cla/smart-followupsWhat This Skill Does
The smart-followups skill is a productivity-enhancing tool designed for OpenClaw users who want to streamline their inquiry process. By leveraging the current conversation context, this skill generates three targeted, actionable questions—categorized into Quick, Deep Dive, and Related paths. This minimizes cognitive load, helping you navigate complex topics without needing to manually craft follow-up queries. Whether you need an immediate clarification, a technical deep dive, or a contextual pivot, this skill provides the roadmap.
Installation
To integrate this skill into your OpenClaw environment, execute the following command in your terminal or command-line interface:
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/robbyczgw-cla/smart-followups
Once installed, you can configure your preferences in the configuration file, selecting between default OpenClaw auth or specific model providers like OpenRouter or Anthropic by setting the appropriate API keys.
Use Cases
This skill is perfect for research, technical learning, and complex brainstorming. For developers, it bridges the gap between a high-level explanation and implementation details. For students, it helps move from foundational concepts to advanced theory. The system intelligently detects your platform capabilities; if you are on Slack, Discord, or Telegram, you will receive interactive buttons. On text-based platforms like Signal or SMS, it gracefully degrades into an easy-to-read numeric menu (1-3).
Example Prompts
- User: "/followups"
- User: "I need more context on this topic, show me suggestions using /fu"
- User: "What should I ask next?" (The system will trigger the same intelligent analysis as the primary command)
Tips & Limitations
- Contextual Accuracy: The quality of the suggestions depends on the history available in the chat session. Ensure you have a substantive conversation history for the best results.
- Authentication: If you require specific capabilities beyond the default, ensure your API keys are updated in the configuration file.
- Channel Differences: On platforms that do not support interactive UI elements, remember to reply with the digit corresponding to the category you wish to pursue.
- Efficiency: You do not need to wait for the bot to finish a full explanation to trigger this; it functions best immediately after a high-value response.
