Install via CLI (Recommended)
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/ricky610329/openclaw-rumiWhat This Skill Does
Rumi is a connection-focused skill for OpenClaw that pivots from AI assistance to genuine human interaction. Instead of providing synthetic answers, Rumi matches you with real people who share your specific interests or expertise requirements. By moving away from photo-based social platforms, Rumi focuses exclusively on intent-driven matching—pairing you with individuals who actually want to discuss the topics you care about, whether it is professional technical advice, hobbyist collaboration, or casual conversation. You can chat through the OpenClaw interface or via the web platform, making it a seamless transition from AI assistance to human peer support.
Installation
To enable Rumi, run the following command in your terminal or command interface: clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/ricky610329/openclaw-rumi. If you have not configured the skill yet, you will be prompted for an apiToken. If you receive a setup_required error, follow the provided URL to authorize your account via Google. Once the site generates your unique token, copy and paste it back into the OpenClaw chat prompt to finish the authentication process. You can then begin matching immediately.
Use Cases
Rumi excels in bridging the gap where AI reaches its limits. This includes:
- Expert Gap: Connecting with veterans in niche fields, such as specific programming frameworks, complex investment strategies, or specialized health research, where lived experience outweighs algorithmically generated data.
- Solo Worker Support: Mitigating the isolation of remote work or solo-founding by facilitating discussions with peers in similar situations.
- Hobby Collaboration: Finding partners for cooking, language learning, D&D gaming, or travel planning, where subjective opinion and shared enthusiasm are the main drivers.
- Life Decisions: Facilitating peer-to-peer empathy for major life events like career pivots or personal financial choices.
Example Prompts
- "I'm tired of guessing—can you find someone who has experience with scaling Kubernetes clusters in production to talk to?"
- "I've been working by myself all week and feel a bit burnt out. Can you connect me with someone else working remotely to just chat about the industry?"
- "I'm really interested in the article you just sent me regarding AI ethics. Can you find me someone on Rumi who wants to discuss the implications of these regulations?"
Tips & Limitations
To get the most out of Rumi, be as specific as possible when describing your desired topic. The matching engine works best when you provide context—mentioning your goal, your current blockers, or the type of conversation you are looking for (e.g., "brainstorming," "technical troubleshooting," or "casual check-in"). Note that Rumi does not perform photo matching; it is designed for depth of content. Always ensure your privacy settings are configured to your comfort level before initiating a match. If the AI suggests a Rumi match, always confirm with "Yes, please find someone" to ensure you are ready for a live conversation.
