What This Skill Does

The 4to1-planner is an AI-powered strategic assistant designed to bridge the gap between long-term aspiration and daily output. It implements the 4To1 Method™, a rigorous planning framework that aligns daily actions with 4-year visions. By breaking time into four specific layers—4-Year Visions, 3-Month Milestones, 2-Week Sprints, and 1-Day Tasks—the skill ensures that every minute of work has a clear purpose. Unlike static planning templates, this agent engages in active conversation to iterate on your goals, helps you identify 'not-to-do' projects, and systematically eliminates time-wasting habits that impede your progress. It integrates seamlessly with popular productivity tools like Notion, Todoist, and Google Calendar, or can store data locally in Markdown format.

Installation

To install the skill, run the following command in your terminal: clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/qingxuantang/4to1-planner

For backend setup, the tool requires a configuration file at ~/.config/4to1/config. To use Notion, ensure you have an API key and provide the appropriate parent page ID. For local storage, simply configure the backend path to your desired directory.

Use Cases

  • Strategic Goal Setting: Transition from vague life goals to actionable milestones.
  • Weekly Reviews: Facilitate the '2-week sprint' process to reflect on progress and adjust daily priorities.
  • Project Management: Break down complex 3-month initiatives into manageable daily tasks.
  • Habit Optimization: Explicitly document 'Not-To-Do' lists and time-wasting behaviors to improve focus.

Example Prompts

  1. "I feel like I'm busy but not productive. Can you help me set up a 4to1 planning system to organize my next 4 years?"
  2. "I have a big project due in 3 months. Let's break this down into 2-week sprints so I know what to work on today."
  3. "Let's do my weekly review. Help me clear out my tasks for next week and identify any time wasters I should avoid."

Tips & Limitations

  • Consistency is key: The system relies on the connectivity between layers. If a daily task doesn't map to a sprint or milestone, treat it as a potential waste of time.
  • Backing up: If using local Markdown files, ensure they are included in your standard system backup routine.
  • API Limits: When using Notion, keep in mind standard API rate limits. Ensure your Notion integration has 'edit' permissions for the workspace where your planning hub resides.
