Installation

Installation follows a multi-step process to ensure secure access to your expertise library.

1. Binary Acquisition: Run the ./install.sh script or use curl -fsSL https://portal.patrickbot.io/downloads/latest/install.sh | bash to fetch the binary. This places patrick-cli in your PATH.
2. License Configuration: Obtain your license from patrickbot.io. You can either provide it to the agent via chat or execute patrick-cli set-license "your-license-here".
3. Context Initialization: This is a mandatory step. Run patrick-cli fetch initialize to bootstrap your workspace with company, team, and personal context. Without this, strategic analysis functions will not execute correctly.
4. Cron Setup: For optimal utility, configure recurring tasks as outlined in INSTALL.md. This ensures automated components like daily briefings stay current and your license remains active via the patrick-cli renew command.

• Always Initialize: Never skip the fetch initialize step, as it creates the foundational schema for all other queries.
• Data Privacy: Be aware that Patrick stores your data in the path defined by $PATRICK_DATA_PATH. Ensure this directory is secured if you are working with sensitive corporate information.
• System Clock: Ensure your server time is accurate, as cronjob scheduling and license expiration checks rely on precise timing.
