What This Skill Does

The Olvid Channel skill for OpenClaw integrates the highly secure, end-to-end encrypted messaging platform Olvid directly into your OpenClaw agent workflow. By deploying this skill, you transform your agent into a reachable contact or bot within the Olvid ecosystem, enabling secure, private communication without the need to expose your OpenClaw instance to the public web. This native integration bypasses traditional centralized messaging vulnerabilities, ensuring that your agent-to-human interactions are protected by Olvid's mathematically proven encryption architecture.

Installation

To integrate the Olvid channel into your current environment, utilize the OpenClaw CLI. Ensure you have the necessary permissions and that your OpenClaw instance is updated. Run the following command in your terminal:

clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/jmartel-olvid/olvid-channel

Once installed, you must configure your Olvid credentials and target identifiers. Detailed setup instructions, including initial handshake procedures between OpenClaw and the Olvid application, are documented at https://doc.bot.olvid.io/openclaw. After verifying your configuration, you can finalize the deployment by running openclaw hub publish to make the channel discoverable to your specific authorized user groups.

Use Cases

  • Private Agent Access: Securely communicate with your personal OpenClaw agent from any mobile or desktop device without exposing your infrastructure.
  • Secure Alerting: Receive sensitive notifications and system updates directly in a private Olvid discussion thread.
  • Encrypted Remote Control: Execute tasks and trigger automation workflows via chat, maintaining total privacy even on public networks.

Example Prompts

  1. "OpenClaw, please run the status report for the server and send the results to my private Olvid discussion 42."
  2. "Olvid-bot, monitor the upcoming project deadline and alert me in the internal project group: 12 if any delay occurs."
  3. "Hey Agent, securely fetch the latest security patch logs and post the summary to the private contact: 21."

Tips & Limitations

  • Targeting: Always verify your Olvid target strings (e.g., olvid:discussion:42). Incorrect IDs will prevent the agent from delivering messages.
  • Network: While the channel prevents web exposure, ensure your OpenClaw instance has outbound internet access to reach the Olvid relay servers.
  • Security: Treat your OpenClaw instance as a secure vault; while the communication channel is encrypted, the agent's logic is only as secure as the host it runs on. Always keep the plugin updated via the official GitHub repository.
