What This Skill Does

The Contacts skill for OpenClaw transforms your local file system into a powerful, privacy-focused personal relationship manager. Unlike traditional CRMs designed for sales, this skill is purpose-built to help you foster genuine human connections. It organizes your relationships by creating individual Markdown files for each person, tracking critical details like family members, shared interests, professional history, and upcoming milestones. By acting as an intelligent bridge between your calendar and your notes, the skill proactively surfaces context before meetings and reminders, ensuring you are always prepared to engage authentically.

Installation

To integrate the Contacts skill into your OpenClaw environment, execute the following command in your terminal: clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/ivangdavila/people

Use Cases

  • Meeting Preparation: Get briefed on who you are meeting, what you discussed last, and any pertinent personal details before you start your call.
  • Relationship Nurturing: Receive proactive notifications about upcoming birthdays or long intervals since your last conversation with important people in your life.
  • Life Event Tracking: Keep tabs on the details that truly matter, such as a friend’s new job, a child’s name, or specific preferences that make you a more thoughtful friend or colleague.
  • Knowledge Management: Use a central, human-readable repository of your social world that is searchable and easily editable outside of the OpenClaw environment.

Example Prompts

  1. "I just had lunch with Maria; please log that we discussed her startup pivot and her plans to move to Berlin next month."
  2. "Who are the key people I'm meeting with tomorrow and what do I know about them?"
  3. "Is anyone's birthday coming up this week? If so, remind me what they like so I can pick a good gift."

Tips & Limitations

  • Tips: Use the tags (e.g., #family, #work) to keep your index organized. Treat the files as living documents—update them after every significant interaction to keep the AI's context current. Leverage the birthdays.md file for a high-level view of upcoming dates.
  • Limitations: This skill does not sync with your phone's address book, as it is designed for deep, personal relationship building rather than contact storage. It is intentionally kept away from automated social media integrations to maintain privacy and ensure interactions feel genuine rather than robotic.
