Nutrition
Build a personal nutrition system for tracking meals, calories, macros, vitamins, and minerals.
Why use this skill?
Optimize your diet with the OpenClaw Nutrition skill. Track meals, macros, and micronutrients with automated logs and insights.
Install via CLI (Recommended)
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/ivangdavila/nutritionWhat This Skill Does
The Nutrition skill acts as your personal AI-powered dietitian and health tracking assistant within the OpenClaw environment. By managing a local file system dedicated to your health, it transforms messy, unstructured food logs into actionable nutritional intelligence. The skill tracks your daily caloric intake, macronutrient distribution (protein, carbohydrates, fat), and micronutrient status. It automatically maintains a workspace under ~/nutrition/, categorizing your data into daily logs, common food references, personal targets, and supplement schedules. When you interact with the agent, it calculates totals based on your input, estimates portions, and provides real-time feedback on whether your current consumption aligns with your fitness or health objectives.
Installation
To integrate this skill into your environment, run the following command in your terminal:
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/ivangdavila/nutrition
Once installed, the agent will monitor your ~/nutrition/ directory to track your dietary habits and provide insights.
Use Cases
- Weight Management: Tracking daily caloric intake against specific goals to support fat loss or muscle gain.
- Micronutrient Optimization: Ensuring your diet is rich in essential vitamins and minerals by identifying gaps in your current meal plans.
- Pattern Recognition: Identifying long-term eating habits, such as weekend consumption spikes or consistent protein deficiencies, through the
insights.mdfile. - Supplement Management: Keeping a structured record of daily vitamins and minerals alongside your food consumption to avoid redundancy or deficiency.
Example Prompts
- "I just had a bowl of Greek yogurt with strawberries. Can you log this for me and tell me how much protein I'm at for the day?"
- "Look at my logs for this week; are there any micronutrients I am consistently missing?"
- "My calorie target is 2,000. I have eaten 1,200 so far, what should I eat for dinner to hit my protein goal of 150g?"
Tips & Limitations
To get the most out of the Nutrition skill, maintain consistent logging habits. The agent relies on the accuracy of your input, so try to provide specific portions when possible, though the agent can estimate if you are unsure. Remember that this skill is for informational tracking purposes and should not replace professional medical advice. For best results, regularly review your targets.md and insights.md files to ensure your goals remain aligned with your current health trajectory. If your diet involves highly complex home-cooked meals, consider updating the foods/common.md file with custom recipes to ensure calculation accuracy.
