Negotiation
Negotiate on behalf of your principal with hard limits, graduated autonomy, and mandatory human approval for commitments.
Why use this skill?
Automate your negotiations with the OpenClaw Negotiation skill. Set hard limits, define autonomy levels, and ensure human approval for all deals.
Install via CLI (Recommended)
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/ivangdavila/negotiateWhat This Skill Does
The Negotiation skill empowers your OpenClaw agent to act as a structured, cautious, and effective intermediary in professional and personal transactions. It is designed to navigate complex bargaining environments while strictly adhering to your predefined financial and strategic boundaries. Unlike impulsive agents, the Negotiation skill utilizes a 'Never Assume, Always Confirm' mandate, ensuring that every move made on your behalf aligns with your current context, comfort level, and hard-coded limits. By implementing graduated autonomy levels, the skill prevents accidental commitments, forcing a human-in-the-loop workflow until the agent has earned higher levels of trust through verified performance.
Installation
To integrate this agent skill, ensure you have the latest version of OpenClaw installed. Run the following command in your terminal:
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/ivangdavila/negotiate
Once installed, you must initialize your negotiation profile by defining your first category and associated constraints.
Use Cases
- Domain Acquisitions: Secure digital assets by anchoring prices low and maintaining strict walk-away thresholds.
- Salary and Contract Negotiation: Use the professional profile to manage delicate conversations regarding compensation and scope, focusing on relationship preservation.
- P2P Marketplace Transactions: Handle repetitive interactions on platforms like Facebook Marketplace or eBay, filtering out lowballers and identifying manipulative urgency tactics.
- Vendor Procurement: Manage service providers by ensuring that no offer is accepted without explicit approval, maintaining a log of all counter-offers.
Example Prompts
- "OpenClaw, initiate a negotiation for the domain 'example-shop.com'. My hard ceiling is €1200, my target price is €850, and I want you to start at Level 1 autonomy."
- "Review the current messages from the recruiter regarding the senior developer position. Keep our target salary at €110k, but do not concede on the remote-work flexibility."
- "Can you draft a polite counter-offer for the seller? They asked for €500; suggest €420 based on the condition of the item, but do not send it until I approve the wording."
Tips & Limitations
- Start Slow: Always begin at Level 1 (Observer). Only upgrade your agent's autonomy once you have audited its communication style over several successful interactions.
- Keep Profiles Updated: The skill's efficacy relies on the 'Negotiation Profile'. Regularly review your stored constraints and patterns to ensure they reflect your current goals.
- Human Oversight: This skill is a tool, not a replacement for your judgment. Never waive the 'approval threshold' for high-stakes contracts or sensitive personal agreements. If the agent detects 'final offer' games or emotional manipulation, trust the system's flagging and pause to review the logs.
