Music
Build a personal music system for tracking discoveries, favorites, concerts, and listening memories.
Why use this skill?
Organize your music discoveries, concert memories, and playlists. Track your listening habits and build a structured music knowledge base with OpenClaw.
Install via CLI (Recommended)
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/ivangdavila/musicWhat This Skill Does
The Music skill for OpenClaw is designed to transform your chaotic collection of scattered music recommendations, concert memories, and listening habits into a structured, searchable personal knowledge base. By utilizing a dedicated file workspace in ~/music/, this skill maintains a living catalog of your sonic life. It acts as an intelligent archivist: when you mention a song in conversation, the agent suggests saving it to your queue; when you need background music for coding, it recalls your preferred focus tracks; and when a favorite artist announces a tour, it alerts you to upcoming events. The skill encourages a habit of intentional listening by tracking your discovery history, physical vinyl collection, and emotional connection to music over time.
Installation
To integrate this skill into your environment, run the following command in your terminal:
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/ivangdavila/music
Use Cases
- Discovery Management: Never lose a recommendation from a friend again by sending it straight to the
to-listen.mdqueue. - Mood-Based Curation: Retrieve curated playlists based on your past experiences with specific activities, such as high-energy workout tracks or instrumental ambient sets for deep focus.
- Concert Archiving: Maintain a historical record of live shows attended, complete with notes on specific setlist highlights and concert atmosphere.
- Collection Inventory: Keep track of your physical vinyl collection and build a 'wishlist' of records to hunt for at local shops.
- Retrospective Analysis: At the end of the year, review your music memories to identify your most impactful discoveries and evolving tastes.
Example Prompts
- "I just heard this band 'Khruangbin' at a cafe and loved the vibe, add them to my artists to explore list."
- "I need to get some deep work done, can you suggest some songs from my focus playlist that have worked well for me in the past?"
- "Remind me of the highlights from that Radiohead show I attended in 2018, and tell me if they have any upcoming concerts nearby."
Tips & Limitations
To maximize the value of this skill, be consistent with your logging. When saving a new album, include the context of how you found it—knowing who recommended a specific artist makes your history more meaningful. The skill is limited by your input; it functions as a personal assistant, not a streaming service client, so it does not replace Spotify or Apple Music, but rather sits alongside them as your personal music 'brain'. Use the 'Progressive Enhancement' approach to build your database incrementally rather than trying to backfill everything at once.
