What This Skill Does

The Feelings skill for OpenClaw acts as your personal emotional intelligence engine. Rather than a static journal, it creates an evolving, data-driven archive of your inner life. By organizing entries by time and context, the skill identifies recurring patterns that affect your daily well-being. It proactively monitors for triggers (such as poor sleep or specific social interactions) and suggests proven coping mechanisms based on your historical data. Over time, it transforms fragmented thoughts into actionable insights, helping you recognize emotional shifts early, build resilience, and maintain a healthier mental baseline through systematic documentation.

Installation

You can install this skill directly via the OpenClaw terminal using the following command: clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/ivangdavila/feelings Once installed, the skill will automatically initialize the ~/feelings/ directory structure, preparing the essential files (log/, patterns.md, triggers.md, helps.md, and insights.md) to track your emotional landscape.

Use Cases

  • Pattern Recognition: Detect if specific days of the week or routines consistently contribute to stress or productivity drops.
  • Trigger Management: Quickly log negative emotional states to identify external variables like caffeine, sleep quality, or workload.
  • Coping Strategy Reference: When you feel overwhelmed, ask the agent what has worked for you in the past to quickly pull up effective strategies like a walk or specific communication exercises.
  • Retrospective Reflection: Use the insights.md file to conduct a monthly review of how your emotional patterns have evolved over time.

Example Prompts

  1. "I'm feeling really anxious about the project deadline today, can you log that for me?"
  2. "What are some patterns you've noticed about my mood on Sunday evenings?"
  3. "I feel completely overwhelmed right now. Based on my history, what is one thing that usually helps me recover?"

Tips & Limitations

To get the most out of this skill, consistency is key. Try to provide context with your entries—a feeling without a 'why' is much harder for the AI to analyze. The accuracy of the insights depends directly on the frequency of your logs. Be aware that while this skill provides excellent data-driven reflection, it is not a substitute for professional mental health support. Use it to build self-awareness, not as a diagnostic tool.
