Digest
Curate external information into personalized updates. Auto-learns format, timing, sources, and depth preferences.
Why use this skill?
Automate your daily news and market intelligence gathering. The Digest skill curates, prioritizes, and summarizes external info to fit your personal workflow.
Install via CLI (Recommended)
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/ivangdavila/digestWhat This Skill Does
The Digest skill acts as a highly intelligent, adaptive personal curator for the vast flood of information you encounter daily. Instead of you manually sifting through newsletters, news sites, industry feeds, and social media trends, Digest automatically gathers, filters, prioritizes, and summarizes this information. It is designed to learn your unique preferences over time, meaning it adapts to the specific topics you care about, the formats you prefer (e.g., bulleted lists, audio summaries, formal reports), and the specific timing that fits your schedule. Unlike internal synthesis tools that focus on private business data, Digest is focused on external market intelligence, keeping you ahead of industry trends and competitor activity without overwhelming your cognitive load. It utilizes a continuous learning feedback loop, adjusting its filtering and formatting strategies based on your implicit and explicit reactions to the information delivered.
Installation
To add the Digest capability to your OpenClaw agent, execute the following command in your terminal:
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/ivangdavila/digest
Ensure that your environment allows for external API connectivity, as the skill requires access to various web feeds and news sources to function properly.
Use Cases
- Daily Executive Briefing: Set the agent to deliver a structured, high-level overview of global market trends and industry-specific news every weekday at 8:00 AM before you start your workday.
- Competitor Tracking: Automatically monitor competitor websites and press releases, receiving a weekly summary of new product launches or pivots.
- Continuous Professional Development: Have the agent curate the best long-form reads and technical research papers on specific topics, filtering out the noise of low-quality clickbait.
- Content Curation for Social Media: Identify high-engagement topics within your niche to help plan your own content strategy based on current trends.
Example Prompts
- "Digest, create a morning summary of AI research papers from the last 24 hours, focusing on LLM architecture and ignoring general opinion pieces."
- "I'm feeling overwhelmed by news. Please switch my evening digest to a short bullet-point format with only the top 3 most important geopolitical stories."
- "Start sending my weekly industry digest every Friday at 4 PM instead of Monday morning; I'd prefer a more relaxed, summary-focused tone."
Tips & Limitations
To get the most out of Digest, treat it as a partner. When a summary hits the mark, tell the agent "I loved this format," which helps it reinforce those choices in your preferences.md file. Conversely, if an item is irrelevant, explicitly tell it why (e.g., "I don't care about X").
Limitations: Digest is not meant for summarizing internal company documents or private datasets; use the Brief or Synthesize skills for those tasks. The quality of your digest is dependent on your initial feedback; in the first few days, expect it to be broad as it learns your specific interests and depth preferences. Always verify that your dimensions.md is updated if you require niche or highly specific formatting requirements.
