Assist with Bitcoin transactions, wallets, Lightning, and security decisions.
Why use this skill?
Master Bitcoin with OpenClaw. Get expert advice on transaction recovery, Lightning Network, security best practices, and avoiding crypto scams.
Install via CLI (Recommended)
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/ivangdavila/bitcoinWhat This Skill Does
The Bitcoin skill for OpenClaw is an advanced analytical and advisory tool designed to help users navigate the complexities of the Bitcoin network. It provides guidance on wallet management, transaction optimization, Lightning Network operations, and security protocols. Rather than acting as a custodial wallet itself, this skill functions as an expert advisor, helping users resolve stuck transactions, understand fee structures, identify potential scams, and ensure privacy by adhering to best practices like avoiding address reuse and recognizing dust attacks.
Installation
To install this skill, use the OpenClaw command-line interface in your terminal:
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/ivangdavila/bitcoin
Use Cases
- Transaction Troubleshooting: Determining why a transaction is stuck in the mempool and suggesting recovery methods like RBF or CPFP.
- Wallet Migration: Assisting users in moving funds between wallets while navigating derivation path issues (BIP44, BIP84, BIP86).
- Lightning Network Management: Explaining concepts like inbound liquidity, channel management, and invoice expiry to ensure smooth peer-to-peer payments.
- Security Audits: Helping users identify phishing attempts, social engineering, and potential malware threats such as clipboard hijacking.
Example Prompts
- "My transaction has been stuck for three days with a low fee. How can I use CPFP to speed it up as the receiver?"
- "I imported my seed phrase into a new wallet but my balance shows zero. Could this be a derivation path issue?"
- "Someone messaged me on Twitter saying they can help me 'sync my wallet' if I provide my seed phrase. Is this a scam?"
Tips & Limitations
- Fee Awareness: Always check mempool.space for real-time data; relying on wallet-native fee estimates often results in overpaying or getting stuck.
- Security First: Never share your seed phrase. If an entity asks for it, it is a guaranteed scam. Always verify the first and last six characters of a Bitcoin address on your hardware wallet screen before confirming a send.
- Privacy: Avoid consolidating small UTXOs (dust) with your primary funds, as this links your transaction history to potential trackers.
- Limitations: The skill provides advisory information only and cannot directly move funds. It relies on the user to execute actions within their chosen wallet software. Always exercise caution when interacting with on-chain assets.
