What This Skill Does

The personal-assistant skill is a minimalist, structured productivity tool designed to help users anchor their daily routine with intention and clarity. It acts as a digital companion that generates structured briefings covering morning motivation, weather updates based on geolocation, task prioritization (the "Rule of Three"), and habit tracking. It goes beyond simple task lists by incorporating an evening review component, encouraging users to reflect on accomplishments, gratitude, and potential improvements for the following day. This dual-sided approach helps bridge the gap between planning and execution, ensuring consistency in your self-care and professional life.

Installation

To integrate this skill into your environment, use the OpenClaw command-line interface. Run the following command in your terminal:

clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/gustavoziaugra/personal-assistant

Ensure that you have the necessary permissions for the directory where you intend to store your output briefing files. If you plan to automate your briefings, ensure the OpenClaw cron daemon is properly initialized on your host machine.

Use Cases

  • Morning Kickoff: Automate your 7 AM briefing to view the day's weather and top 3 priorities before you even open your email.
  • Habit Formation: Use the built-in tracking features to maintain streaks for hydration, reading, or exercise by reviewing the daily checklist.
  • End-of-Day Reflection: Use the evening review script to log your achievements and identify areas of friction, providing data points for personal development over time.
  • Minimalist Workflow: Perfect for users who feel overwhelmed by feature-heavy project management suites and prefer a text-based, distraction-free environment.

Example Prompts

  1. "OpenClaw, generate my morning briefing for New York and save it to today-plan.json."
  2. "Personal assistant, what are my top priorities for today based on my stored habits?"
  3. "Show me the evening reflection template so I can close out my workday."

Tips & Limitations

To maximize the utility of this skill, we recommend scheduling it via the system cron feature so you don't have to trigger it manually. One limitation to keep in mind is that this skill primarily functions locally; it does not currently sync with third-party calendars or cloud-based task managers. Treat it as a primary journal for your personal productivity rather than an enterprise synchronization tool. Keep your location updated in the configuration to ensure the weather reports remain accurate for your current region.
