Why use this skill?
Use the SCAMPER framework to innovate, generate hackathon ideas, and break through creative blocks with the OpenClaw AI agent skill.
Install via CLI (Recommended)
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/enzoricciulli/scamperWhat This Skill Does
The scamper skill is a dedicated creative thinking engine designed to help you innovate, refine, and troubleshoot ideas using the proven SCAMPER framework. Whether you are building a new product, planning a hackathon project, or feeling blocked on a specific task, this skill provides a structured way to systematically pivot your thinking. It operates through three distinct modes—Quick, Full, and Targeted—allowing you to scale your brainstorming based on the depth of output required. By applying the seven lenses (Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put to other uses, Eliminate, and Reverse), the skill forces your brain to explore paths it might otherwise ignore, turning abstract problems into actionable concepts.
Installation
To integrate this tool into your OpenClaw environment, execute the following command in your terminal:
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/enzoricciulli/scamper
Use Cases
- Hackathon Planning: Quickly transform existing tools or concepts into high-impact, 24-hour demoable projects.
- Unblocking: When stuck on a project, the skill uses the 'Reverse' and 'Eliminate' lenses to break through mental gridlock by stripping away unnecessary complexities.
- Idea Refinement: Use this after saving an idea to your notes to iterate on the core concept and discover hidden potential.
- Framework Customization: Tailor generic business or development frameworks to your specific industry by substituting components or combining them with tools you already use.
Example Prompts
- "SCAMPER this idea: I want to build an AI agent that schedules meetings based on LinkedIn interactions."
- "I am feeling really stuck on this landing page copy; can you run a Targeted SCAMPER using only the Eliminate and Reverse lenses?"
- "Give me 3 hackathon concepts using the base functionalities of Notion using a Full SCAMPER approach."
Tips & Limitations
- Don't Over-process: While Full SCAMPER is comprehensive, use it for big projects. For daily tasks, use Quick SCAMPER to avoid analysis paralysis.
- Context is Key: The quality of the output depends on the context you provide. Be specific about the 'Subject' of your SCAMPER to get the most relevant suggestions.
- Review and Filter: The AI provides the framework, but you must act as the editor. Not every suggestion will be feasible; evaluate them based on your current constraints and technical capacity.

pattern-analyst
Analyze interactions to identify patterns in what Enzo shares, why he shares it, and how it connects to his goals. Use during heartbeats for periodic analysis, when Enzo asks about his patterns/interests, or when significant new content is shared that reveals a pattern.
screenshot-capture
Process screenshots Enzo shares with comments. Save to reference library, extract content, categorize, set reminders, and log patterns. Use when Enzo sends an image with context like "save this", shares a screenshot of content (LinkedIn posts, tweets, articles), or sends ideas/frameworks to remember.
adaptive-reasoning
Automatically assess task complexity and adjust reasoning level. Triggers on every user message to evaluate whether extended thinking (reasoning mode) would improve response quality. Use this as a pre-processing step before answering complex questions.
