What This Skill Does

The linkedin-monitor is a powerful, autonomous agent skill designed to streamline professional networking and inbox management. It functions as a robust layer atop your LinkedIn messaging, providing hourly monitoring to ensure you never miss critical business opportunities. By integrating with your personal communication style, the agent can draft high-quality replies or take full control depending on your preferred level of autonomy. It features deterministic state management, ensuring that you are notified exactly once for every interaction, effectively eliminating the noise of duplicate alerts.

Installation

To begin, ensure you have the OpenClaw environment initialized. Install the skill directly from the repository using the following command:

clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/dylanbaker24/linkedin-monitor

Once installed, navigate to your terminal and run linkedin-monitor setup. This interactive wizard will walk you through the necessary authentication steps for your LinkedIn account and help you configure your preferred alert channels (such as Discord). Once configured, run linkedin-monitor enable to activate the hourly cron job, ensuring your inbox is monitored continuously in the background.

Use Cases

  1. Lead Qualification: Automatically respond to inbound sales inquiries by providing calendar links or requesting more specific details, filtering out noise before you even open LinkedIn.
  2. Professional Networking: Stay top-of-mind with new connections by sending personalized, style-matched initial greetings that feel authentic rather than robotic.
  3. Inbox Zero: Maintain a clean inbox by letting the agent handle routine acknowledgments and meeting scheduling for standard outreach requests.

Example Prompts

  • "@linkedin-monitor show me the pending drafts for today that require my approval."
  • "@linkedin-monitor update my communication style to be more concise and focused on B2B technical outcomes."
  • "@linkedin-monitor change autonomy level to 2 so you can handle basic scheduling requests automatically."

Tips & Limitations

  • Progressive Autonomy: We strongly recommend starting at Level 1 (Draft + Approve). This allows you to verify that the agent’s generated voice matches your persona before graduating to higher levels of automation.
  • Safety Limits: Always configure the safetyLimits in the config.json file. Setting escalationKeywords is vital to ensure that if a prospect expresses frustration or mentions legal/refund issues, the agent halts autonomous actions and alerts you immediately.
  • Human Oversight: While Level 3 (Full Autonomous) is highly efficient, remember that the agent acts as an extension of your professional brand. Periodically review your logs to ensure the outgoing interactions align with your long-term relationship-building goals.
