Tips & Limitations

• Lens Balance: While you may be tempted to use 'Explanation Lenses' (telling the reader the facts), strive for 'Objective' and 'Subjective' lens combinations. This creates an immersive experience that keeps the reader guessing.
• Avoid Over-Writing: Do not attempt to describe every action. Select the 3 most representative cinematic shots to allow the reader’s imagination to fill in the gaps.
• Emotional Payoff: Always ensure that your 'pleasure' or 'satisfaction' moments are earned through proper setup. If you bypass the 'pressure' phase, the 'payoff' will feel hollow to the reader.
• Limitations: The skill works best on narrative-driven fiction. It may be less effective for non-fiction, academic, or technical documentation where clarity and literal instruction are prioritized over aesthetic and emotional impact.
