principles
Ray Dalio-inspired personal knowledge system. Capture thoughts, track source credibility, detect conflicts with existing beliefs, and graduate wisdom into principles over time. Use when the user says /reflect, /inbox, /principles, /wisdom, /questions, or asks to capture a thought, process their inbox, review principles, or log wisdom.
Install via CLI (Recommended)
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/andyhcwang/principlesWhat This Skill Does
The Principles skill is a personal knowledge management engine designed to simulate the rigorous decision-making framework championed by Ray Dalio. Unlike simple note-taking tools, this skill acts as an intelligent auditor for your thoughts. It organizes raw input into a hierarchical structure ranging from the 'Inbox' (raw capture) to 'Wisdom' (verified claims) and ultimately 'Principles' (hard-tested, axiomatic beliefs). Its most critical feature is its active conflict-detection mechanism, which ensures that your personal knowledge base remains internally consistent and intellectually honest.
Installation
To install this skill, use the ClawHub CLI:
clawhub install openclaw/skills/skills/andyhcwang/principles
Use Cases
- Intellectual Synthesis: Turning scattered ideas from books, articles, and conversations into a coherent philosophy.
- Decision Auditing: Identifying when a new piece of information contradicts your long-held beliefs, forcing a conscious reconciliation.
- Life Tracking: Maintaining a living record of your personal philosophy, leadership style, and business logic.
- Dilemma Resolution: Capturing open questions and tracking them until you find enough evidence to form a concrete principle.
Example Prompts
- "/inbox I just read that delegation works best when you define the outcome but leave the method to the employee. Please save this."
- "/reflect process my inbox and let me know if any of these thoughts conflict with my existing business principles."
- "/reflect questions show me what dilemmas I still need to resolve based on my current journal entries."
Tips & Limitations
- Iterative Refinement: Principles are not static; use the
/reflectcommand frequently to evolve your beliefs as you learn. - Conflict Resolution: When the agent stops for a conflict, treat it as an opportunity for deep thinking. You are the final arbiter of your wisdom.
- Maintenance: Periodically review
principles/_index.mdto ensure your most important beliefs remain accurate. The agent works best when you provide high-quality, truthful inputs; garbage in will lead to cluttered principles.
