Claude 2x Usage Promotion: Best Times to Use Claude in Every Time Zone
Anthropic is offering doubled usage limits for Claude Free, Pro, Max, and Team plans during off-peak hours — until March 27, 2026. Here's exactly when to use Claude in your time zone to get the most out of the promotion.
Promotion at a Glance
What the Promotion Actually Means
The 2x usage applies outside of 8 AM–2 PM Eastern Time on weekdays. That six-hour window is the peak period — during it, your limits are normal. Outside of it (evenings, nights, weekends), you get double.
Crucially, the bonus usage does not count toward your weekly limit. You can burn through double usage during off-peak hours without eating into your weekly quota. This is the most underrated part of the promotion.
The promotion covers Claude Code as well — meaning heavy Claude Code sessions for coding, refactoring, or agent workflows are twice as cost-effective during off-peak hours.

Who Benefits Most?
Asia-Pacific users get the best deal. For Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Tokyo — the US peak window (8 AM–2 PM ET) converts to late evening local time. Your entire workday falls in the off-peak window. You get 2x usage during standard working hours, every weekday.
Europe is favorable too. Paris and Berlin see the peak window as 2–8 PM local time. Mornings and evenings are fully off-peak.
US users benefit on weekends and evenings. For Eastern time users specifically, the promotion doesn't apply during the main workday — but afternoons from 2 PM onward and full weekends still get the 2x boost.
Claude Code Users: Plan Your Heavy Sessions
If you run long Claude Code sessions — large refactors, generating documentation, working through complex codebases — scheduling them during off-peak hours doubles how much you can get done before hitting limits.
Combined with Claude Code skills (OpenClaw skills that extend what your agent can do automatically), off-peak sessions let you run longer, more capable workflows without interruption.
Quick Tips to Maximize the Promotion
- Schedule batch tasks for weekends. All day Saturday and Sunday is off-peak globally — ideal for large generation jobs, code reviews, or data processing.
- Use Claude Code for long tasks in the evening. Start heavy sessions after the peak window ends in your region.
- The weekly limit is separate. Bonus usage during off-peak doesn't consume your weekly quota — treat it as genuinely free extra capacity.
- Promotion ends March 27. After that, limits return to standard levels with no change to your plan or billing.
